Frequently asked questions.

Do I need to set anything up to have backups?

No. The schedule is created together with the site and starts backing up from day one. If you want, you can change the frequency and preferred time, or run a manual backup before touching anything delicate.

What exactly does each backup include?

The site's complete files and a dump of its databases, all in one compressed package. When it closes we store its real size and checksum, so you know the backup is whole and not half-written.

Where are they stored and how long do they last?

In Pluxion storage, off the server your site runs on. Default retention is 7 days, with daily, weekly and monthly tiers: the first backup of the week and of the month are kept as such. Expired ones are purged automatically.

What if I restore the wrong backup?

Before overwriting anything we save a copy of the site's current state, so the rollback can be rolled back too. Only completed backups can be restored, and the panel shows the real result of the restore, not an endless "in progress".

Can I download a backup and take it with me?

Yes. We generate a five-minute signed link that downloads the file straight from storage, without going through the panel. It's your backup and you can take it wherever you want, whenever you want.

What happens if a backup fails?

We mark it as failed instead of leaving it hanging, and if three fail in a row we pause the schedule and email the account owner with what to check and a direct link. The counter resets as soon as a backup succeeds again.
