Domains and DNS

My domain isn’t pointing to the site

Quick checklist, wait times, and when to ask for help.

Quick checklist

If the domain does not show your site, walk through this before you panic:

  1. Under Domains, confirm the domain is added and linked to the right site.
  2. Check nameservers or A/CNAME records against the connection guide. Compare character by character with what the dashboard shows.
  3. Open Hosting or Sites and verify the site is published and active.
  4. Try the URL with and without www, and in a private window (browser cache lies).
  5. Look at DNS health: are there unresolved errors or warnings?

Common mistakes: a nameserver typo, an A record pointing to an old IP, www on a CNAME with no root A, or the site still in draft.

Wait for propagation

If you just changed DNS, wait. Many changes show up in minutes, but it can take up to 24-48 hours. During that time different networks may see different versions. Do not undo and redo every ten minutes. That stretches the problem.

Use the health view and a test from another device or network (for example mobile data) to compare.

When to ask for help

Open a ticket if:

  • More than 48 hours passed and the domain still does not load the site.
  • Health shows an error and you do not know which record to edit.
  • The site loads on a temporary Pluxion URL but not on your domain.
  • You suspect a registrar conflict (lock, DNSSEC, or a panel that will not save).

In the ticket include the domain, DNS and health screenshots, and what you changed and when. That speeds up the reply.

Tip

Write down the exact time of the last DNS change. When you message support, that detail is gold.
