Domains and DNS

Check your DNS health

Health statuses and what to fix first.

What the statuses mean

Under Domains, Pluxion shows a DNS health or status summary. It helps you see at a glance whether the domain points correctly to the site, whether records are missing, or whether conflicts exist. Statuses usually mean everything looks good, there are warnings, or there are errors that block the site or email.

  1. In the dashboard, go to Domains.
  2. Open the domain you care about.
  3. Check the health indicator or the checklist (site, email, key records).
  4. Note what shows as red or warning before you change anything.

Do not ignore a "minor" warning if it affects email or www. Sometimes the site loads and MX is wrong, or the other way around.

What to fix first

Practical order:

  1. Wrong or half-updated nameservers (if they should point to Pluxion and do not).
  2. Site records (root and www A or CNAME) that do not match what hosting expects.
  3. MX and mail records if you use mailboxes at @yourcompany.
  4. Duplicate or old records that fight each other (two different A records, a bad root CNAME, and so on).

Fix one group, wait a bit for propagation, then check health again. If you change everything at once, you will not know what worked.

If DNS lives outside Pluxion, edit at that provider with the values the dashboard shows. Then refresh the health view.

Tip

Check health after every big change (new site, new email, registrar move). Five minutes now prevent a Friday with the site down.
